About

Poisson Rouge is a Modern Cajun band from Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, the “Most Cajun Place on Earth.” Rooted in tradition but shaped by diverse influences, their progressive sound, which they call Modern Cajun, brings fresh energy to classic styles.

Led by singer-songwriter and accordionist Kylie Griffin, the band delivers soulful French lyrics and danceable rhythms. With several members also working as music educators, they’re not just preserving Cajun music, they’re reimagining it for the next generation. Their debut album, Là-bas, was officially considered for a 2023 Grammy nomination in the Best Regional Roots Music Album category, a testament to their innovative approach and cultural impact.
